Hear from agency leaders and MCP subject-matter experts as they discuss how having a COOP in place has helped them navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes they made to keep staff safe while maintaining operations, and the lessons learned along the way.

How To: Developing Continuity-of-Operations and Disaster Recovery Plans for Your Agency

Continuity-of-operations (COOP) and disaster recovery (DR) plans are key elements for maintaining mission-critical agency operations during a natural or manmade event, including tornadoes, hurricanes, pandemic, terrorist attack, cyber attack, and more. The investment in developing these plans is significant, but, once in place, they can help mitigate the effects of an event quickly and effectively.

During this educational session, MCP subject-matter experts will discuss:

  • The purpose of COOP and DR plans
  • Critical elements to consider in the planning process
  • The importance of conducting tabletop exercises and staff training
  • Plan management and maintenance
